The Church of the Nazarene is a global Christian denomination rooted in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. We are committed to making Christlike disciples in the nations and believe that God's grace is available to all people.
We believe in one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who is actively involved in the world today. We believe that Jesus Christ, God's Son, became human, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again, and now reigns as Lord. Salvation is available through faith in Jesus Christ, by God’s grace, and not by our own efforts.
We emphasize the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to live holy lives filled with love, obedience, and service. Holiness, or entire sanctification, is a second work of grace by which the heart is cleansed from sin and filled with God’s perfect love.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our final authority for faith and practice. We believe in the Church as the body of Christ, called to worship, grow in faith, and serve others.
We practice baptism and the Lord’s Supper as means of grace and signs of God’s work in our lives. We also believe in the hope of Christ’s return, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal life with God.
